ChiWhoBike #10

A man stands smiling in front of his bike under some pale brown CTA 'L tracks on some lush green grass. The man has a brown mustache and pale skin and is wearing a white short-sleeved button down shirt, teal shorts, and red sneakers, and his bike is light blue with sky blue drop handlebars.

What I prefer about biking is honestly, the cost. As much as I like public transit, with biking I don’t have to wait for anyone else. And of course you can mesh biking with public transit, but I think for the most part the cost and the environmentally friendliness of it is what I like. There’s advantages to having a car, but in a city… eh, so biking allows me convenience and a nice mix of independence and cost.

Biking in Chicago could be better, I think, with just more bike lanes. More bike lanes and fewer cars. I like those protected bike lanes, that just makes me feel better. People still abuse them or whatever but that makes me feel better. I also like to use Mellow bike maps, which is this project that someone made where they took Google Maps and just overlaid this map, where you can put in where you are and your destination and they will give you the most bike-friendly route.
