ChiWhoBike #31

An older man stands with his black mountain bike. The man is wearing a grey t-shirt and jeans with black sneakers, and has light skin and short cut grey hair. His bike is a plain black mountain bike with with a black U-lock hanging off the handlebars.

I’ve been biking all my life, and I’m 72 in August. I work part-time, I ride downtown, and I like the bike path along the lake. And I got this bike at a garage sale for 20 bucks, and it was destroyed, the derailleur was taped to the frame. But I’ve had it for three years, and I say I put too much money into it, but it’s dependable. It’s all new parts, and I keep it secure

I had eye surgery, I have cataracts and I have problems. I have to have another eye surgery, so I can’t pass the vision test, so my driver’s license lapsed, and I still need another surgery.

It’s easier to bike when you go downtown. I like to bike downtown and to Streeterville, and there’s no parking. But you can find a bike rack almost any place, put the Kryptonite on there, and you’ll be done with it.
